Chapter 322: Rescue (1)

Chapter 322: Rescue (1)

Damian slept pretty well that night. With his current power, sleeping and paying attention to his surroundings at the same time was pretty easy!

So, the man didn’t have a chance to escape. The good thing was that he didn’t even try! Damian was afraid he might get up and go after the man, which would undoubtedly be boring and time-consuming.

On the following morning, they ate breakfast together in the tavern. The lady from last night was no longer there.

"Ted, that’s my name. We should get some supplies after eating and get our boat."

The supplies weren’t that necessary for Damian—he could get food himself, and drinking seawater wasn’t a problem for his powerful organism.

In fact, with his current water-bending skills, he could even create drinkable water using his powers. So for him, it wasn’t needed.

He could get the supplies for both of them, but he preferred to keep some of his skills hidden, just in case.

So, after eating breakfast in the tavern, the two left and gathered their supplies.

The whole process took about 1 hour. Ted’s boat was quite small, so they couldn’t really stuff it with supplies.

"So you are pretty strong, huh?" Ted said as they placed a few crates on a wooden boat. "You know, you survived a dragon’s attack. That’s insane."

Damian could move the crates using his Telekinesis, but he just grabbed them with his hands.

"You could say that," he said, his mind recalling the event, "but the dragon was pretty powerful."

The dragon didn’t really want to kill them. If it did, then he would be dead. Damian was powerful, but not enough to contend against that creature.

Ted nodded. "Yes, it’s a legendary creature in this region. People have shared legends about it for ages. It waking up doesn’t sound like such a good thing..."

"What do you mean?"

"People say the dragon only wakes up during periods of crisis. Something bad might be coming our way."

Damian’s mind knew exactly what it meant: the tenth dungeon floor would soon be getting frozen, just like Earth. Certainly, the dragon would get away from that dungeon floor if it were smart.

’Can I find the dragon and ask for advice?’ Damian wondered.

As they were filling up the boat with the crates and chatting, a group of people showed up. Three in total.

All of them looked like criminals. Their outfits screamed that. They just had that bad look on their faces, as if they were always angry and wanting to punch someone in the face.

"Yo, Ted," one said, "where are you going?"

"Did you forget about it, Ted? You stupid shit."

Damian was feeling lost about what was happening.

Ted, with an awkward smile on his face, said, "I didn’t forget about it. I need a little more time to pay my debt."

The man closed his fist and punched the wooden pillar standing next to him.

"We gave you more than enough time. You should have paid us last month, but we gave you more time because of our past friendship. But this is too much. You need to pay what you owe. We are not leaving today without our money."

Ted had been facing some financial problems, and decided to get money from his old friends, all criminals.

Instead of finding a way to pay them back, he just used the money for his own pleasures. That woman in his room the other night had been hired with the money he got from them...

In normal circumstances, Damian wouldn’t give a shit about Ted and his debt. However, he needed the man to sail them to the island. He was the only one crazy enough to go there without complaining.

’Maybe he wanted to go to avoid these guys...’

Things were starting to make sense in Damian’s mind.

Damian stepped forward, moving slightly ahead of Ted.

"I’m sorry, but I can’t lose my precious time, and he doesn’t have the money to pay you. But we will get it soon, so can you wait a little longer?"

The man, once again, shouted, "I JUST SAID he can’t have more time. Are you deaf?"

Words wouldn’t suffice, so Damian had to act and show them who was in power there. He used his tremendous strength to close the distance and grabbed both of that man’s arms.

A snapping sound echoed. Both arms bent like a snapping twig. Both broken.

"The next thing breaking is your neck if you speak with me like that again," Damian said, his gaze falling into the other two, "are we clear?"

They couldn’t even see Damian’s movements, and their leader had both arms broken almost instantly.

"We are deeply sorry," one said, "you can go and get our money and pay next month."

The leader was so scared that he added, "or you can pay us next year too. Don’t think much about it, alright?"

With that, the trio left. Their leader wanted to find something to heal his arms.

Ted stood there in shock. He also couldn’t see Damian’s movements. He already knew he was strong, sure, but that was beyond his imagination.

"Thank you for that," Ted said, "we should leave now."

They hopped into the boat and left the island.

It was a pretty shit boat. Like, its speed wasn’t fast, and with that many crates, even finding a place to sleep was difficult.

"How far is the island anyway?" Damian asked, his gaze focused on the horizon.

"It might take us a few days, depending on where the wind blows, beast attacks, pirates, you know the drill," Ted said, "there are too many dangers on the ocean."

Damian was already expecting that. He was just glad they were finally on the boat, moving in the right direction. For him, that calmed his heart. He wanted to find his friends and finish the task before it was too late.

On the third night of sailing to the three islands, a group of two ships approached them.
