Chapter 394: Martial Dao and Arrogance
Chapter 394: Martial Dao and Arrogance
Everybody froze including the sovereigns above. Ved’s avatars flew out of the sea and floated in the air facing his opponents.
But even he was watching this new ability of Naledi and he wondered how well he could fare against it.
He shrugged because he knew she would never use it against him in th first place. Naledi moved her fingers as if playing a piano.
The light wielding woman moved, her avatar turned into a streak of light and attacked the other woman.
However Naledi frowned, she was not satisfied. The woman’s combat ability was reduced by at least 40 percent.
’ It seems there’s lot I need to improve on.’ she thought to herself then turned her attention towards Ved.
He grinned at her revealing teeth as large as trees. " Maybe it’s time I stop holding back." He roared to the sky.
He still didn’t summon his law avatar no use ignition. Instead he took a fighting stance catching all three off guard.
Even Naledi was confused but Ved had a plan. All three avatars attacked at the same time.
Giant claws made of martial intent flew at his opponents. Neither who paid them any attention.
Martial intent was below laws and couldn’t even breach their law barriers. Ved knew that off course.
Seeing the opportunity, they took it, they all used their law Avatars to attack him. Giant law avatars came at him from three sides.
The lightning sword avatar was the first to reach him. It turned into a bolt of lightning moving faster than any other attack.
BOOOOM, it hit Ved’s avatar faster than he can dodge. A massive gash appeared on his side.
Lightning laws ravaged on his insides destroying his organs, unfortunately he couldn’t heal fast enough.
His regeneration trait was yet to upgraded and couldn’t keep up with wounds created by laws.
That avatar attached back, he flapped his wings and reached his opponent almost instantly.
Martial intent surrounded his hand and he slashed his claws at him. The sword avatar arrived and blocked his claws.
His scales cracked and blood flew from his palm but he ignored that wound, he twisted and attacked with his tail.
The man saw a giant jagged pillar descending upon him but his speed was too high.
He easily dodged Ved’s attack and responded with his own. He stabbed his vessel into Ved’s eye.
Even though the swordman was faster than Ved’s avatar, it wasn’t to the point of him being unable to dodge.
Be blocked the sword with his hand and it pierced through his scales making his opponent grin.
He felt like he was winning this battle but Ved also felt happy. His martial intent was improving.
Ved was using all three avatars to train different aspects of his martial arts, he was using this guy to train speed.
After stabbing his hand, the swordman retreated then attacked with his law avatar sword instead.
The sword avatar was even faster than his other attacks. Just as it was about to touch Ved, he disappeared.
Avatar 2 was facing the bird man and he was training his reaction speed, evasion ability and deflection ability.
The bird feathers which seemed to be the only ability of this guy flew at him like rain, for someone his size.
Dodging something like this should’ve been impossible and that was true. Feathers exploded over his body.
Wounds accumulated but the flames burnt so high his blood evaporated upon contact, Ved was struggling.
But he only felt happiness because the longer they fought, the more he saw the path forward.
His martial arts had been stuck, he had hit a wall but that wall was crumbling little by little the more he fought.
Even though his avatar’s body was being destroyed by explosions like supernovas, he felt only happiness.
He realised something in his fight against the bird man, his dragon art was too rigid, it focused on offense too much.
Even when in defence, it placed emphasis on blocking the attacks but he found a new path.
As the feathers flew at him like honing missiles, the world seemed to slow down and clear path opened.
His martial intent flew and solidified into martial dao, instead of blocking it flowed like a river.
The martial intent danced like serpent dragon and coiled around the feathers deflecting them to the sides.
In doing so, Ved was able to dodge all of them but the changes in their trajectory was so minor it looked like he just straight up dodged them.
The avatar facing the stone man used a different version of the dragon art, the original version focusing on strength and hard defence.
Boom boom boom, the air shattered with every explosion, of the three it was struggling the most.
With only half his full strength he couldn’t match the strength of this stone giant and kept being pushed back.
Finally he was sent flying to the ocean below, his body hit the water and it felt solid then let up.
The water sank and lowered around him, it became softer then he sank under. The water exploded up. All that happened in slow motion to him.
’ I see.’ Ved saw another path, brute force was obviously not working, he needed a way to deal with opponents stronger than him.
He flew back out and faced his opponent, he took a deep breath sucking in enough air to cause massive gales.
They clashed and he was pushed back again but he noticed it wasn’t as bad as before.
They clashed again and again and each time he was pushed back less and less. ’ Become water.’
He was ridding his martial art of the rigidity it had. His martial inte coalesced in front of him forming a thin wall.
The stone giant attacked the martial wall with a giant stone hammer. Ved was sent flying back but so was his opponent.
The stone giant looked confused, Ved grinned. His idea was finally taking shape and his martial dao was forming.
They clashed one last time, the force of the stone giant’s attack was absorbed by the soft martial intent wall.
The martial intent evolved into martial dao upon the clash. Then the force exploded out attacking the giant instead.
Ved had used his own attack against him catching him off guard. The stone hammer shattered into fragments.
This happened at the same time, all three Avatars achieved martial dao at the same time.
" Enough, I’ve achieved my goal and your existence is no longer required."
Those arrogant words caught even the sovereigns by surprise. Ved summoned his other Avatars back.
His law avatar appeared behind him, a giant tree and black dragon appeared, their presence made the other law avatars look insignificant.
The black dragon roared and flew down to the root of tree. The tree flipped and the black roots took the spot of the canopy.
The tree was upside down, the world seemed to dim, his body grew slimmer and longer.
His feathered wings turned into bony wings and his eyes turned pitch black, an aura of doom took over.
Ved summoned all the mana he had into his throat and uttered a single word.
