Chapter 344 - 343: A Clean Sweep

The Void Demon army fled in a desperate, frantic retreat. In the end, out of the 350,000 elite troops who had entered the Void Demon Swamp, only a pitiful 70,000 managed to escape.

Marquis Laida approached the battered remnants of the Void Demon army. With a slight frown, he demanded, "Marquis Nipal, Marquis Asuya, why have you returned in retreat? Where are Duke Yide and Duke Amata?"

Marquis Nipal said, his voice laced with lingering fear, "There’s an incredibly terrifying Swamp Demon hiding in the Mire Dragon Marsh. That Swamp Demon is one of Shu Feng’s Summoned Beasts, and it can manipulate the dreadful Power of the Swamp. The two Dukes are being hunted by that Swamp Demon. It’s unknown if they’re dead or alive!"

In the Mire Dragon Marsh, that Swamp Dominator’s Swamp Manipulation Ability was simply outrageous. It could drag a Void Demon Marquis into the swamp with a single attack.

If the Swamp Dominator hadn’t been so focused on hunting down the two Void Demon Dukes, neither of these two marquises would have escaped.

A glint of suspicion flashed in Marquis Asuya’s eyes. He said coldly, "Marquis Laida, while we were fighting Shu Feng’s Summoned Beast Corps, many of our Warriors suddenly betrayed us and attacked from behind. If I’m not mistaken, all of those Warriors were yours."

Marquis Nipal was startled. A look of alarm flashed in his eyes as he stared intently at Marquis Laida and Marquis Xivin.

Marquis Laida’s expression darkened. "Our personal guard of Warriors has been by our side this whole time!" he said coldly. "Asuya, your joke is not the least bit funny."

Marquis Xivin hesitated for a moment, then said, "The Warriors who betrayed you... could they have been under Marquis Hilardo’s command?"

Marquis Asuya thought for a moment, then said slowly, "That’s right. Those Warriors were all under Marquis Hilardo’s command."

Marquis Xivin said, "Marquis Hilardo was assassinated by a powerful expert from the Ghost Demon Clan. They must have used a Secret Technique to bewitch his Warriors, causing them to rebel at the most critical moment!"

Realization dawned on Marquis Asuya, and a murderous glint flashed in his eyes. "So that’s how it was. Damn that Ghost Demon Clan!!"

The Ghost Demon Clan was an incredibly formidable power in the Void Demon Realm. They had conquered many worlds and possessed more than one Divine Spirit Level expert. The Ghost Demon Clan also had countless strange and powerful Secret Treasures, so it wasn’t out of the question for them to use a Semi-Divine Artifact or two to bewitch an army of the Devouring Ghost Demon Clan.

Marquis Laida suggested, "Let’s go. We’ll have a good meal and properly relax."

"Alright!"

The two Void Demon Marquises, Asuya and Nipal, then proceeded to the banquet hall in Lord Black Swamp’s Mansion.

Before long, countless delicacies were served and laid out upon the table.

The four Void Demon Marquises began to sample the various delicacies to restore their strength.

"This is a fine wine I discovered, Ten Thousand Fragrance Fruit Wine. It’s unbelievably delicious! You simply must not miss it!"

Marquis Laida clapped his hands lightly. A beautiful young woman of the Dogman Race walked over with a bottle of wine, uncorked it, and a strange, mysterious aroma immediately filled the air.

"This is bad! The scent... it’s poison!"

The moment Marquis Asuya smelled the mysterious aroma, a sense of alarm flared within him. But when he tried to circulate his Power of Void Demon, he was horrified to discover that he couldn’t summon it at all.

Marquis Nipal also cried out in alarm, "Watch out, it’s poison!"

"No need to shout. I’m the one who poisoned you."

A ripple flickered in the air, and Shu Feng appeared before Marquis Asuya and Marquis Nipal with a faint smile.

The two Void Demon Marquises, Laida and Xivin, rose and bowed respectfully to Shu Feng.

Marquis Laida had not wanted to betray his former kinsmen. But he had no control over his body or his will. Worse, a dark impulse hidden in his subconscious wanted to drag others down with him.

"Marquis Laida is right. From now on, you will be my subordinates."

Shu Feng smiled faintly, strode over to Marquis Nipal and Marquis Asuya, and struck, grievously wounding them both. He then tossed them into the Warrior Synthesis Nest to begin the process of controlling them.

’I hope the collections these guys have on them make me a fortune!’

A luxurious white Spiritual Energy Sports Car pulled to a stop. Shu Feng stepped out, looked at the familiar Lord’s Mansion, and let out a long sigh. "I’m finally back!"

The two Void Demon Dukes were equivalent to two Spirit Saint Level experts, and they had weighed on Shu Feng’s mind like a pair of great mountains. If he hadn’t made so many preparations in advance, Mire Dragon Territory would have long since fallen to their attack.

As soon as Shu Feng entered the Lord’s Mansion, the stunningly beautiful Yifulei, the Princess of the Fallen Country, approached him. Dressed in a black-and-white laced maid uniform, she reported,

"Greetings, Master! Master Jiang Chao and Miss Zhao Zixing are waiting for you in the reception hall."

A flicker of confusion in his eyes, Shu Feng made his way to the reception hall.

Jiang Chao was sitting on a sofa, chatting with Li Xuan Yi.

The two women, Zhu Chenyu and Zhao Zixing, were also talking, though a hint of faint, veiled hostility flickered between them.

The moment Jiang Chao saw Shu Feng, his expression turned serious. "Shu Feng, where in the world have you been? You’re a pretty poor excuse for a lord, disappearing at a time like this. I have important intelligence for you."

Shu Feng asked, "What intelligence?"

Jiang Chao said, "I’ve received reliable intelligence. The Void Demon Clan is planning to attack your Mire Dragon Territory from the direction of the Mire Dragon Marsh. I brought two hundred elite Warriors with me to support you. That’s what you call a good friend, eh?"

Li Xuan Yi frowned. "Jiang Chao, where did you get this intelligence? How come I haven’t heard anything about it?"

Jiang Chao replied, "I got this information five days ago. I wanted to notify you immediately, but the Spiritual Energy frequencies in this area were being jammed. I had no choice but to come in person."
