Chapter 1029 - 978: Give Sheehan a Baby Brother
Sienna Johnson has a promotional event in the afternoon, heading to a nursing home for a visit. She came over to feed Baby Sheehan.
"Madam, Sixth Master is still in a meeting," Marion said.
Sienna checked her wristwatch, realizing she only had half an hour, and asked, "How long will the meeting last?"
"I don’t know."
"Go get him out, tell him I’m here."
"You might want to call him yourself."
Adrian Desmond is most averse to being disturbed while he sleeps; waking him up is something not everyone can handle.
Sienna saw Marion was in a quandary, thinking it must be an important meeting that couldn’t be interrupted, but when she entered and saw Adrian sleeping, she was at a loss for words.
Comparing people is truly frustrating; both are bosses, but one is exhausted while the other can still sleep?
"President Johnson..." Lemuel Carter said respectfully when he saw Sienna.
When Lemuel Carter stood up, everyone else did too, greeting Sienna one after another.
Sienna smiled in response and walked to Adrian’s side, looking at the big and small sleepers. She gently pushed Adrian,
"Adrian!"
Adrian slowly opened his eyes, saw Sienna, and smiled, "I just dreamt about you."
Sienna carefully took her sleeping son from his arms, seriously saying, "Falling asleep during a meeting, I’m impressed."
"The meeting was too boring."
Lemuel Carter: ...
Sienna left carrying her son, and Adrian stood up and followed her.
"I dreamt about when I first met you..."
"And then?"
"Then we got married."
Sienna stopped walking, turned to look at Adrian, and said, "It was indeed a dream!"
Daydream!
"I dreamt I had many wives."
"Congratulations, Sixth Master."
"And then you hooked up with Xavier Young and gave me a son that wasn’t mine."
"And then you killed me?"
"I wanted to kill you, but then you disappeared, couldn’t find you anywhere..."
Nightmare, so when he opened his eyes and saw Sienna, Adrian gave a bright smile, glancing at Baby Sheehan in Sienna’s arms—his son!
Sienna joked, "Luckily I ran fast, or I would’ve been murdered by you."
"Shouldn’t you reflect on your affair?"
"A man who isn’t faithful to his own wife has no right to blame her for adultery."
The two returned to Adrian’s office, and Sienna was stunned to see it resembled an amusement park.
"Why has your office turned into this?"
"Baby Sheehan didn’t like staying in my old office, so I had it converted into a children’s room style. Rest assured, all materials are eco-friendly."
"Sixth Master, while I’m working so hard to exhaustion, you’re so carefree, I feel unbalanced."
"You can be like me," Adrian said.
"That’s impossible," Sienna laughed, shaking her head. She wouldn’t allow herself to be as "idle" as Adrian.
"Bosses should personally handle tasks, even interfere with operations of higher-level specific modules, but this is generally only suitable for a single business model; otherwise, the larger the enterprise, the faster the boss’s capability bottleneck arrives, possibly becoming a burden to the team’s development.
You shouldn’t expect bosses to be omnipotent gods. Even if they were once gods, with technological development, someday they’ll become incompetent.
As long as companies need ongoing innovation to seize market share, and as companies transition from single to composite businesses, bosses must dare to delegate key staff to do things, without intervening too much in details; the boss’s energy should be on strategic decisions."
"You make a good point. But aren’t you afraid your strong employees might get poached by other companies and take away the core team when you delegate everything?"
"So, you have to be willing. Giving is gaining, gaining is giving; being generous is being stingy for your dear ones. If you want to retain talent, you must be willing to share interests.
In the animal world, when grabbing food like cattle or raising it, the alpha must first learn to share with the pack, leaving its own share last, otherwise, everyone won’t follow you with empty stomachs."
"..."
"For example, Cloudscape Security—I gave Lemuel Carter a high salary, also giving him 10% of the company’s shares; we are co-beneficiaries, so he withstands all kinds of external temptations and calmly works for me."
"..."
"Bosses overly concerned with money end up more exhausted, poorer. Sharing the cake retains key staff, making the cake bigger. Sienna, you can’t keep everything in your hands."
Sienna contemplated Adrian’s words and thought he made some very valid points.
"Hmm, I will seriously consider this."
Sienna had her own desires; she wanted more things to accompany her child, hence she had to choose between work and life.
"No worries, if you really go bankrupt, I’ll take care of you."
Sienna glared at him, "Phooey, you jinx. Can’t you say something nice?"
"Shouldn’t you be touched in times like these?"
"That’s the Johnson Family’s legacy; if it collapsed under me, how could I face my dad."
"..."
"My dad didn’t have sons; people mocked him, so I have to prove myself, work hard, show those who look down on us that daughters can be formidable too."
Baby Sheehan was still asleep. Sienna turned her back to the window, unbuttoned her shirt, and Baby Sheehan smelled the familiar scent and woke up, taking a bite.
"Ah..."
"Did he bite you again?"
"Before he grows teeth, I must wean him off," Sienna was really scared of this Little Monster.
"Why not feed him formula then, your milk isn’t enough anyway."
"Let’s go until he’s six months. By then, he can have solid food too."
Sienna softly caressed her son’s head; Baby Sheehan felt safe and comfortable, occasionally humming.
"Adrian, let’s have another baby brother for Baby Sheehan."
Adrian shuddered inwardly and casually replied, "Let’s talk about it later..."
"The doctor said my recovery was great, so don’t use protection anymore..."
"You’re so busy, how will you have a baby?"
"Baby Sheehan came out just fine. Besides, your suggestions were good—I might try them."
At Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory, Sienna employed Adrian’s method, but at Eastminster Group, Sienna did not delegate power.
Originally, when her father passed away, a same clan uncle embezzled almost two-thirds of the company’s cash flow and absconded.
Those years were truly tough.
She feared someone mastering too much power might overshadow her, embezzling funds and escape.
"Two are enough already."
"How can two be enough?"
Adrian had just enjoyed several days of "happy" life, but now she wanted more children?
Adrian frowned, looking at Sienna, "Don’t Orienta women dislike having children?"
