Chapter 276: Offending Quite a Few People
Chapter 276: Offending Quite a Few People
The food was served incredibly quickly, and Holly Sawyer barely said a word the entire time, just kept on eating while Leo Grant and Warren King chatted idly.
"Whoa, seriously?"
Who knows how much time passed, but Warren King looked at the once-packed table now nearly empty, and stared at Holly Sawyer in shock, his eyes filled with disbelief.
This is a girl’s appetite?
No way, right?
All that food was devoured, it’s somewhat eerie.
A girl’s appetite can be that large?
Really?
Holly is so petite, yet her appetite is truly... astonishing.
Warren still found it hard to believe.
"What’s up?"
Leo Grant continued peeling prawns for Holly and asked curiously, obviously not understanding the meaning behind Warren’s surprised exclamation.
He was used to Holly’s big appetite.
From initial disbelief to eventual acceptance, it was a process, to be sure.
"Little sister-in-law’s appetite is pretty impressive, huh."
Warren finally adjusted his mindset and spoke.
"It really is."
Leo nodded in agreement.
Warren silently glanced at the adorably soft Holly and patted his chest silently.
Thank goodness Leo is wealthy and can afford to feed Holly, otherwise, with an average family, Holly might just eat them into poverty.
He couldn’t imagine a girl’s appetite being so huge.
After dinner, they went for a relaxing walk through the rose field, Leo and Holly holding hands, while the single Warren walked silently beside them.
Damn, was he just asking for punishment?
He actually volunteered to walk around with a married couple.
"My goddess loves roses, so I planted this field, thinking she’d definitely come to see it if she knew."
Warren looked at the blooming roses and sighed, a sense of helplessness in his eyes.
Originally, he was doing well abroad, but since his goddess returned to China, he followed her back.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know where his goddess was or how to contact her.
He used to know, but the contact was deleted.
Warren felt utterly helpless.
"Quite devoted."
Holly remarked.
"What’s her name? I can help you find her."
Leo offered, intending to help his friend.
Success depended on Warren, but he could at least help search.
"Her name is..."
"Watch out."
Warren hadn’t finished speaking when Holly suddenly shouted and did a backflip, landing right behind Warren.
She was holding an arrow.
Holly’s eyes had a hint of coldness.
The arrow had flown straight toward Warren’s head. If she hadn’t noticed and reacted quickly, Warren might not even be here now.
"Shit."
Warren was completely stunned, looking at the scene in front of him in disbelief.
Someone wanted to kill him?
Warren couldn’t believe it. Without Holly, he might already be lying on the ground with his eyes rolled back.
Seeing Holly’s beautiful backflip and her precise arrow-snatching, Warren realized that Holly was no ordinary girl.
Before, he wondered how someone as ordinary and gentle as Leo’s wife could be watched over by Leo all the time.
If he couldn’t watch over her, she’d become Leo’s weakness. Once someone has a weakness, they have a vulnerability.
Now it seemed Holly was anything but ordinary; at least she could protect herself.
"Does your hand hurt?"
Leo stepped forward, taking the arrow from Holly’s hand, and gently rubbed her hand, speaking softly.
He blew on her hand, looking doting.
"It doesn’t hurt."
Holly shook her head.
"Look, it’s all red."
Leo continued to blow on her hand, gently massaging it.
The two looked very much in love.
Warren: "???"
Help, he was speechless.
He hadn’t expected Holly to be so skilled; this little girl really was something else.
He was the one who was scared, yet no one was concerned about him???
"Have you guys had enough of being lovey-dovey?"
Warren took a deep breath and spoke calmly.
"So, who did you piss off?"
Leo suddenly got serious and asked earnestly.
Thankfully Holly reacted, or he wouldn’t see his friend tomorrow.
Holly’s ability to react was remarkable, even surpassing him, he thought.
"I’m not really sure either."
Warren shook his head, speaking with some helplessness.
"There are a lot of people I’ve offended."
After pausing, Warren continued, scratching his head, somewhat embarrassed.
Leo: "..."
Holly: "..."
Good grief, it turns out there are so many enemies he can’t even remember them all.
What in the world did this guy do to make so many people hold a grudge against him?
"Who are some of them?"
Holly asked coldly.
Leo’s friend was her friend, so she had to help.
"One of them is from The Pantheon..."
Warren suddenly lowered his head and spoke with embarrassment.
The Pantheon, usually, if you can avoid it, you do.
He didn’t really mean any harm, just happened to stumble into it.
Holly: "???"
Holly looked up at Warren, clearly exasperated.
"Ah, it’s nothing, I’ll handle it myself, no need to drag you guys into this mess."
Warren scratched his head again and said.
Leo’s abilities were indeed strong, but if it were other matters, he’d still trouble Leo, but not this one.
"So, who did you piss off?"
Holly lazily lifted her eyes, speaking slowly.
Hmm, she could just talk it out, just a matter of speaking, it wasn’t hard at all.
"Nah, no one, let’s keep looking at the flowers."
Warren shook his head, not really wanting to discuss it.
Dragging Leo into this mess indeed wouldn’t be good, so Warren decided not to mention it.
"When I say tell me, just tell me, no nonsense."
Leo gave Warren a sidelong glance and said coldly.
"I offended The Pantheon’s master, alright? Just drop it, you can’t handle it."
Warren touched his nose and said.
Actually, it wasn’t true; he just said that so Leo and Holly wouldn’t ask.
Offending someone from The Pantheon is one thing, but offending its master is off-limits, that’s a terrifying presence.
Holly looked at Warren with a bewildered expression, "When did you offend me?"
She raised an eyebrow, looking playfully at Warren, clearly seeing through his equivocation.
As the master of The Pantheon, she couldn’t remember Warren ever offending her.
Tsk.
Leo put his arm around Holly’s shoulder, also looking at Warren with an amused expression.
"What?"
Warren didn’t react immediately, feeling he hadn’t heard correctly, he looked at Leo and Holly in confusion.
