Chapter 516 - 515: It No Longer Matters
Chapter 516 - 515: It No Longer Matters
Damian Sinclair didn’t realize that not speaking could lead Bella Acker to wander off in her thoughts so much.
He just didn’t want her to be caught in between, unsure of what to do. He hadn’t dared to tell her about the feud between the two families before, fearing that with her personality, she would feel guilty and blame herself once she knew the truth. He worried she might retreat and run away before his mother could react.
Damian Sinclair shouldered all the pressure alone, trying to find a solution that would work for everyone.
Cecilia Lynch’s situation was entirely an accident; he could never marry anyone other than her.
Damian Sinclair looked into Bella Acker’s eyes, turning her face back towards him, and said, "I was drunk that night and mistook her for you. But later, I felt something was wrong. I just don’t know if I stopped because the next morning, I couldn’t remember what had happened the night before."
"You..." Bella Acker was shocked, her eyes widened. It was the first time she heard Damian explain what happened between him and Cecilia Lynch, and she never expected he had mistaken Cecilia for her.
Her heart felt a tinge of relief, but her gaze quickly fell with disappointment.
The process no longer mattered, did it? A child had already been conceived between them, proving that something had indeed happened that night.
Even if he saw Cecilia Lynch as a stand-in for her, the child in Cecilia’s womb couldn’t be replaced by anyone else.
No matter what Damian felt, the Sinclair Family would never agree to abort the baby. The child would certainly be born, and Cecilia Lynch, as the mother, marrying into the Sinclair Family was only natural.
Bella Acker sighed, "Forget it, talking about this now is meaningless. This is the women’s bathhouse; if you don’t want to be seen as a perverted voyeur, you should leave quickly."
"Bella Acker, what do you mean by that?" Damian Sinclair’s face darkened further, his fingers suddenly gripping Bella Acker’s delicate chin, his voice cold, "You seduced me first, and now you want to back out?"
What did he mean she seduced him? Clearly, he was the one who seduced her first! If... if he hadn’t seduced her, she wouldn’t have... she wouldn’t have fallen in love with him!
Bella Acker’s eyes widened, "You’re talking nonsense..."
Just as she finished speaking, they suddenly heard footsteps again coming from the bathhouse entrance.
This time, the footsteps were clear, and both of them heard it distinctly.
But even though Damian heard them, he didn’t move at all. He didn’t think about running out immediately, nor did he think about finding a place to hide, not even intending to pull up the curtain of the stall they were in.
Hearing the footsteps getting closer and closer, Bella Acker grew anxious.
She certainly didn’t want Damian to be mistaken as a perverted voyeur by others. She had no choice but to push him away with force and quickly move forward to pull the curtain closed.
Bella Acker felt a bit fortunate at this moment, thankful that she chose the innermost stall just now.
The footsteps stopped not far from the side and didn’t come any closer. Bella Acker finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, she felt warmth behind her as the tall man embraced her from behind.
Bella Acker was startled, almost letting out a cry, but quickly covered her mouth.
Damian Sinclair wrapped his arms around her from behind, lowering his head to bury it in her shoulder. The faint scent of alcohol and warm breath brushed against her neck and ears, sending a shiver through her.
Her neck and ears were her most sensitive spots, secrets Damian Sinclair had long since mastered completely.
